If used improperly, they not only fail to achieve the expected performance results, but also easily cause bearing damage. Everyone must have paid attention to lubrication. Besides lubrication, what other aspects do bearings need to pay attention to during use?

1、 Be careful when using and installing

Do not allow strong stamping, do not directly strike the bearing with a hammer, and do not transfer pressure through rolling elements.

2、 Use appropriate and accurate installation tools

Try to use specialized tools and avoid using fabrics and short fibers as much as possible.

3、 Try to keep the bearings and their surrounding environment clean as much as possible

Even if invisible smile dust enters the bearing, it will increase the wear, vibration, and noise of the bearing.

4、 Prevent corrosion of bearings

When directly taking bearings by hand, it is necessary to thoroughly wash off the sweat on the hands and apply high-quality mineral oil before proceeding with the operation. Special attention should be paid to rust prevention during the rainy season and summer.

Under certain special operating conditions, bearings can achieve a longer lifespan than traditional calculations, especially under light loads. These special operating conditions are the surface damage that may occur when the rolling surface (track and rolling element) is effectively separated and restricted by a lubricating oil film from pollutants. In fact, under ideal conditions, the so-called permanent bearing life is possible.

When disassembling the bearing for maintenance, first record the appearance of the bearing, confirm the residual amount of lubricant, sample and inspect the lubricant used, and then wash the bearing. As a cleaning agent, gasoline and kerosene are commonly used.

The cleaning of dismantled bearings can be divided into coarse cleaning and fine cleaning, which are respectively placed in containers. First, a metal mesh pad is placed on the bottom to prevent the bearings from directly contacting the dirt in the container. During rough cleaning, if the bearing rotates with dirt, it can damage the rolling surface of the bearing and should be taken care of. In the coarse cleaning oil, use a brush to remove lubricating grease and adhesive substances. After roughly cleaning, proceed to fine cleaning.

Fine cleaning refers to carefully cleaning the bearings while rotating them in cleaning oil. In addition, cleaning oil should also be kept clean regularly.

Maintenance and judgment of bearings: In order to determine whether the dismantled bearings can be used, it is necessary to inspect them after cleaning them. Check the condition of the raceway surface, rolling surface, and mating surface, the wear of the cage, the increase in bearing clearance, and any unrelated damage with decreased dimensional accuracy, and any abnormalities. For non separable small ball bearings, use one hand to support the inner ring horizontally and rotate the outer ring to confirm smoothness. For tapered roller bearings and other separable bearings, the raceway surfaces of the rolling element and outer ring can be inspected separately.
